The European Union fails to agree to adopt a new sanctions package against Russia ahead of the fourth anniversary of the Russia-Ukrainian war. The package was blocked after a meeting in Brussels to which Hungary vetoed the proposal after worries over energy supplies into the nation. Budapest claims deliberate delay to oil transit repairs and during blocked a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. Slovakia also opposed the proposal to increase economic pressure on Moscow; questioning the validity of the EU and its members commitments.
