Mexico sparks internal debate after a successful military operation lead to the killing of a Top Drug Lord (Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes/ “El Mencho”) who led the CJNG. The operation occurred in Jalisco after years of pursuit and longstanding cartel violence. Since, coordinated attacks have occured such as roadblocks and the burning of vehicles leading to the deaths of at least 25 members of the National Guard who’m have been deployed amid the chaos. At current Mexico have shut schools temporarily whilst the president has praised and defended the actions of the military. Foreign governments have warned tourists to stay alert.
